Connexion Truck Centre opened its doors in 2000 in Winnipeg as a dealership for Sterling Trucks. Representing only one line of trucks, the company was known as Sterling Mid-Canada Ltd. From the beginning, the company exceeded its growth expectations. Taking things one step at a time, the company’s targets kept rising and it experienced growth despite the fact North America’s trucking industry was headed into a deep recession. Careful management practices combined with new and innovative strategies allowed Connexion to not only weather the financial dilemma of the industry, but to expand its operation significantly while many others were closing down. In 2002, it acquired the Western Star franchise and in 2009 added the Mitsubishi Fuso Truck Line.
All of this growth necessitated a move to a larger facility to accommodate a rapidly expanding customer base. A new facility was purchased on 440 Oak Point Highway, in the heart of Winnipeg’s trucking district. This new facility also allowed Connexion Truck Centre to begin its body shop operation, which complemented the existing sales, service, and parts businesses. As part of a strategy to provide the owner operator a total spectrum of support for their unique needs, Connexion Industries opened the Recycled Parts Division in 2011. With this multi brand multi-service operation, Connexion Industries continues its commitment of the right product for the right trucking application with competitive pricing and the necessary expertise.
